Welcome!

Hello! My name is Molly and Welcome to Molly in the Moon. A space for me to share my creative endeavors and ideas. I am a crafter by nature. All my life I have found happiness in making. As a child I was constantly turning whatever I could into costumes and then performing for my family. In elementary and middle school I started learning embroidery and how to sew. I made my first article of clothing in 7th grade, a hideous pair of cropped pants with large bows on the bottom, very 80's. I was also, along with my best friend, one of two girls in the shop class. I learned how to use all power tools and I love to build, the lathe is a particular favorite of mine.


As time went on I started to sew more, learning on my own through trial and error. In college I studied theatre and spent the majority of my time in the costume shop, with forays into the props and scenery department, building my skills in design and construction. Upon leaving school I did not go into a career in theatre, but continued to sew when I had opportunity. This is when I started learning more about piecing quilts and discovered my addiction to fabric.

Today I am a busy mom, working full time and raising my two boys with my husband in the Willamette Valley located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I sew and craft whenever I get a chance. I love to knit, making quilts and making fun things for me and the children in my life.
